We had the pleasure of working with Steve Kelnhofer, a passionate glassblower, to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing storage space for his thriving business. This project was a dream to work on and we wanted to take some time to highlight it in order to demonstrate the quality and expectations that you can expect working with Peak Building Systems.
This month's project spotlight starts with Steve Kelnhofer who started ELEV8 Glass Gallery & Distribution in Colorado Springs, CO 22 years ago. As a self-taught glass maker and pipe maker, he was a pioneer in the field of dry-herb vaporizers. Working in the legal medicinal markets across the US, Steve began to establish a reputation for high quality, reliable products that quickly earned him the reputation as one of the foremost pipe makers in the US. After years of growth, product expansion, and personnel increases, Steve was out of room at his gallery/workshop. Enter Peak Building Systems.
Working with Steve to design a building with his needs in mind, our expert staff came up with an 8,250 sq ft single slope pre-engineered metal building that would allow expansive views of Colorado's Southern Range including a breathtaking view of Pike's Peak. The foot print of this structure is 55'x150' with a 16' high side wall eave. The color's Steve picked were Fox Gray for the wall panel, All trim and gutter in Burnished Slate, downspouts in Polar White and finally Reflective White for the roof which helps reflect the hot Colorado sun. The building features R-30 Silvercote Energy Saver in the Roof and R-19 Silvercote R-19 in the walls.
